Pwrpas prosiect 'Hiraeth' oedd i gynnig cyfleoedd creadigol i deuluoedd o Ffoaduriaid ym Mhowys fyddai'n eu galluogi nhw i deimlo'n rhan o'r gymuned o'u cwmpas ac i gwrdd a phobl newydd.

Buom yn gweithio ar sesiynau celf yn Oriel Davies, Y Drenewydd, a gwahodd y teuluoedd i ymweld a Gwyl y pethau Bychain ar dren, gwyl i ddathlu Dydd gwyl Dewi a Chymreictod. Yma cawsom y cyfle i gwrdd a theuluoedd o ffoaduriaid sydd wedi ymsefydlu yn Aberystwyth, ac hefyd i gwrdd a phobl o'r gymuneda oedd yn awyddus iawn i'w cwrdd a'u helpu.
Gwnaethom amrywiaeth o weithdai mewn ysgolion yn Y Drenewydd a Llandrindod, lle buom yn trafod diwylliant Cymru a Syria, rhannu straeon a cherddoriaeth. Gyda'r wybodaeth yma, bu'r plant yn brysur yn creu 'Buddy bench' ar gyfer iard yr ysgol, ti-pi straeon a murlun enfawr i atgoffa'r disgyblion bod gan pawb stori i'w rannu ac i barchu diwylliannau gwahanol.

The purpose of the 'Hiraeth' project was to help refugee families integrate into their communities in Powys by providing art workshops and a chance to meet new people.

We provided art workshops at Oriel Davies, Newtown, and also invited the families for a day trip on the train to Machynlleth where they had the opportunity to meet up with other refugee families from Aberystwyth.

We also provided workshops at schools in Newtown and Llandrindod Wells, where we explored Welsh and Syrian culture, stories and music. With this information, the children created a buddy bench, an outdoor mural and a storytelling teepee to keep for years to come.

This project was run by Arts Connection and funded by Awards for All.
"We sometimes feel lonely and we like to go out and share days together. We had fun on the Hiraeth project and the children enjoyed the activities."
